Today, our Net Impact Platform is an exceptional resource – it’s the world’s largest open-access database on company impact with data on 10,000+ companies publicly available for anyone to explore. As impact data becomes increasingly central in business decision-making, Upright's data is trusted by 200+ institutional investment organizations and corporations, predominantly in Europe and North America. And this is just the beginning of our journey.
We are now on the hunt for a Communications Lead to join our Marketing Communications team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of various communications and content tasks as we strive to rapidly grow our global brand awareness among European C-suites.
Are you the strategic, hands-on communications professional with a bias for action we’re looking for? A skilled storyteller with an exceptional eye for copy and a love for bold brands that stand out through compelling content? As our Communications Lead, you’ll jump on a moving train to take charge of various communications and content tasks, with the ultimate goal of building Upright into the leading global thought leader in the impact space.
A key part of your daily tasks will be driving and enhancing Upright’s global brand awareness and thought leadership, often through planning and producing high-quality content on topics such as data analysis on companies’ impact, Upright’s AI-enabled technological development, and what’s wrong in the wider sustainability discourse. Depending on your experience and interests, additional areas of ownership may include PR, partnerships, leadership’s personal brand building, SEO, and more. This position is perfect for a high achiever looking to combine strategic vision with practical execution.

  • You are a strategic communications professional with expertise in establishing thought leadership and brand awareness in global markets.
  • Your independent copywriting skills are excellent, allowing you to create captivating, high-quality English content (Finnish not required).
  • You have demonstrated ownership of projects or areas, showcasing your seniority.
  • You enjoy having a hands-on approach to daily communications tasks and content creation.
  • You thrive in autonomously managing multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency and drive to achieve results.
  • You have a consistent track record of exceeding expectations, driven by your passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.

Additionally, we’ll consider the following a plus:

  • You have communications experience related to corporate sustainability, high technology, financial markets, or regulation.
  • You possess leadership experience with in-house teams or managing external partners.
  • You have good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • You have experience in creating video or audio content.

Upright is on a mission to incentivize companies to optimize their net impact by enabling science-based decision-making for investors, customers, employees, and public sector agents. To do that, Upright develops a proprietary data model based on an open-access database of 200M+ scientific articles and artificial intelligence to quantify the net impact of companies on people, planet, society, and knowledge creation. In addition to net impact, Upright produces data on UN SDG alignment, EU taxonomy, and EU SFDR PAI indicators. Currently, our impact data platform is used by 200+ institutional investors and companies, such as Nasdaq, Nordea, EQT and Nokia.
