Who Are We?

Thaleron is a driven team with significant financial backing developing an entirely new mechanical energy storage technology. We have proven it in the lab, and are now building our first scale prototypes. Our aim is not to just make a carbon-free grid cost-competitive with fossil fuels, but drastically cheaper. If we succeed, we will unlock the fourth industrial revolution.

Your Team

We believe in small superstar teams, with high autonomy and responsibility. As an Electrical Engineer at Thaleron, you’ll be part of a team of world experts, developing new concepts, rapidly building and testing to destruction.

Our team is onsite at least Tuesday to Thursday, creating an environment conducive to rapid innovation and seamless teamwork.

Your Role

You'll be responsible for the product's electrical architecture, including motor, controllers, sensors and cabling. We're not looking to develop our own proprietary hardware, so this role focuses on defining requirements, systems architecture, integration, development and test.

          What you need to succeed:

          • Very strong team player. Working well as part of our team is, if anything, more important than individual brilliance.
          • A bias for action and getting hands-on work done

          • You apply your analytical skills to rapidly and iteratively develop prototype solutions
          • In-depth knowledge of electric motors and controllers. You'll be able to educate us about the different types of electric motor and controllers available, who is developing the best systems and what we should consider specific to our use case
          • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics engineering or equivalent field
          • Able to produce accurate technical documentation
          • Capable of building test rigs, developing test plans and seeing them through a physical test cycle

          Candidate Journey:

          1. Talent Screen - video call (30-45 minutes) - an introductory call with our talent consultant.

          2. Technical Interview - video call (60 minutes) - initial, technically focused interview with our founders.

          3. Onsite meeting (half-day) - in-person meeting with the team in central London. You'll participate in a collaborative task and spend valuable time with the whole team.

Along the way, we might also ask you to speak with one of our major investors.

This process is designed to give you every chance to get the measure of us, and us of you. The various stages give you a fair opportunity to show your unique strengths and qualities, and enables each of us to establish if we’re a good fit for the other.

Please share with us any individual needs or reasonable adjustments we may need to make in advance of commencing the interview process with us.
