About Planet A:

Planet A is a leading early-stage tech VC backing European founders tackling the world’s greatest systemic challenges. We take a scientific approach to identify breakthrough solutions the world can’t afford to ignore across energy, resource mastery, neo-manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. Investments include INERATEC, Makersite, C1, HIVED, traceless materials and 44.01. As a small team with flat hierarchies, we live by our core values: excellency, transparency, trust, humbleness, conviction, and respect.

Tasks

The Role:

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join our team and help steer Planet A through its next chapter. This role keeps our vision alive day to day, keeping us sharp internally and visible externally. It’s not a classic behind-the-scenes position. It’s for someone who wants to be in the room where the next generation of world-changing tech is taking shape and help form how we operate, communicate, and grow as a fund.

You will be working closely with our management team and will be the strategic right hand to our Partners, moving seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. One day you might be refining an investment thesis or preparing materials for LPs. The next, you could be discussing new partnerships, run a special ops project, or helping create an industry-leading event.

If you are execution-focused, great at connecting people and you thrive in fast-paced environments - this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Fund-Level Support:

  • Work closely with the Partners on strategy, investment thesis development, and fund-level initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted sparring partner on high-priority tasks and special projects

LP & Investor Relations:

  • Help maintain and strengthen relationships with LPs and network members, ensuring high-quality communication
  • Support the Partners on investor updates, reporting, and fundraising processes and help prepare meetings as well as on-site DD’s

Operations & Organizational Efficiency:

  • Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing improvements across internal processes and fund infrastructure
  • Ensure smooth cross-functional communication and alignment across the team
  • Drive high-leverage projects across operations, portfolio, and ecosystem initiatives
  • Prepare and debrief key meetings: research, materials, and follow-through on action items
  • Own the planning and execution of key LP events, portfolio days, strategy off-sites, ecosystem gatherings, and new thematic initiatives

External Visibility:

  • Help shape and amplify the fund’s brand and external narrative across events and strategic positioning
  • Co-develop and execute flagship initiatives such as the Planet A Summit, Founders Retreat, and other ecosystem events at major industry conferences

Network Building & Ecosystem Engagement:

  • Strengthen and expand our network within the VC and startup community, fostering partnerships with other funds, operators, and ecosystem leaders

Requirements

You will thrive in this role, if you:

  • Bring 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-performance environment (e.g. startups, VC, policy, comms, events, strategy consulting, or similar), along with a deep understanding for innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Have hands-on experience building and scaling teams or companies, and understand what makes operations run smoothly behind the scenes.
  • Know how to bring people together across functions, personalities, and priorities. You can translate big-picture fund goals into clear actions for different teams.
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit. You don’t wait for instructions, instead you spot opportunities, create structure where it’s missing, and know when to pull others in.
  • Have strong emotional intelligence and can read a room, navigate different personalities, and adapt your style depending on who you’re working with.
  • Care deeply about what you do, and want to help build something meaningful in venture, not just keep the wheels turning.

This role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in Berlin.

Benefits

Why you should join Planet A:

  • You can be an elementary part of a top tier venture capital firm - the first in Europe with a scientific approach to impact.
  • You can join a dynamic environment that is driven by impact and highly motivated to make a change for the better.
  • While we’d love for you to be based in Berlin as we have our beautiful office in Berlin Mitte, remote work within Europe is absolutely possible.
  • You have access to an annual personal development as well as travel and conference budget.
  • You can enjoy benefits like Urban Sports club membership or the Deutschlandticket.
  • You can take part in our monthly co-working days – collaborate side by side with the entire Planet A team and strengthen connections over team lunches, dinners, or fun team activities.
  • You have the opportunity to participate in bi-annual offsite gatherings with the core Planet A team.
