GA Drilling is developing next generation drilling technologies to unlock geothermal energy anywhere on Earth. Our technologies include smart downhole anchoring and drive systems that control the drilling process at the bit, plasma-based rock-destruction systems that fracture rock ahead of the drill bit, and innovative reeled drill strings that redefine how hard-rock wells are constructed. We are seeking a Senior IT Operations Lead to act as the architect of our digital backbone. You will not just "manage" from a distance; you will be the hands-on operational core of our IT, coordinating operations across Slovakia, USA, Brazil, and the UK. You will work side-by-side with our current IT team and engineers to ensure they have the secure, robust tools they need to move at the speed of this emerging industry.

You will be based at our Slovakia (Bratislava) office.

The opportunity for you

You will be the hands-on architect of GA Drilling’s digital environment. You will build the IT foundations that enable NexTitan to scale in a world where smart mobility, AI, and data centers are driving energy demand to new highs.

You will act as the primary technical lead for our digital transformation, optimizing our mixed on-prem and cloud environment (Microsoft ecosystem + SAP). Your goal is to support your colleagues—drilling engineers, R&D teams, and business functions—by ensuring their tools are robust, secure, and fast.

You will own

• Global Collaboration Standards: Define and deploy a unified communication standard (Teams / SharePoint) to reduce tool fragmentation and connect our global hubs, including clear rules for remote/hybrid work.

• Practical AI Implementation: Move AI beyond "hype" by selecting, piloting, and rolling out AI productivity tools that actually improve efficiency and knowledge sharing.

• IT Operations & Processes: Define and implement core IT processes (incident, change, asset management, backups) and run the day-to-day service desk and monitoring.

• Security & Reliability: Clean up legacy ad-hoc setups and establish professional documentation, security policies, and configuration baselines.

• Collaboration & Vendor Coordination: Partner closely with our IT specialist (providing mentorship and guidance) and coordinate external vendors to ensure reliable, 24/7 support for the company.

What we expect from you

• Experience: 7+ years of experience in IT operations, with a strong track record of acting as a Team Lead or Senior Specialist in a distributed international organization.

• Microsoft Ecosystem: Deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Azure AD, and identity lifecycle management.‍

• AI & Modern Tooling: You are genuinely curious about AI and have practical experience using tools AI tools. You know how to look past the "hype" to find real ways to shortcut repetitive tasks, streamline complex workflows, and make our daily processes more efficient—whether that's automating a repor, or summarizing a meeting.

• Infrastructure: Comfort with mixed on-prem/cloud infrastructure (VPN, Wi-Fi, Firewalls, Endpoint management).

• Business Systems: Experience with HR, finance, ERP systems, SAP; familiarity with engineering tools (CAD/PLM) is a plus.

• Adoption Skills: A track record of driving adoption—you are skilled at training users and creating simple guides for new tools.

• Communication Skills: You can explain security policies or new AI tools to engineers and finance teams alike, effectively and empathetically.

• Strategist and a Doer: You can plan the roadmap for the next 2 years, but you are also willing to jump in and solve a critical ticket if needed.

• Languages: Fluency in English and Slovak.
