Technical Lead

Purpose of the job:

Act as the lead technical authority for assigned technology programmes, with personal responsibility for the technical team leadership, experiment configuration, mechanical design and test execution. Work with the senior management team to oversee best engineering practices and improve company processes.

Your job will be:

• Lead technical delivery of assigned Technology Programmes, including definition and control of technical scope, time, cost and quality
• Lead technical team of assigned Technology Programme, including team structure definition, tasks assignement, performance evaluation, people management and leadership of the of his direct project reports
• Use engineering skills, judgment, and analytical skills to lead the development, selection, and refinement of solutions to engineering problems
• Oversee other engineering staff in the production of high-quality design documentation, including drawings, calculations, reports, procedures, and specifications
• Agreement and adherence to agreed timescales and resource allocations, appoint individuals to Project Teams, allocate resources and skills within projects
• Support a positive and proactive HSE culture and ensure that all activities adhere to HSE Policy. Lead risk assessments and HAZOPs as required
• Promote technical best practices and ensure company processes and procedures are being followed
• Creation of test plans and test procedures
• Lead experimental work, in-house and at 3rd party locations, including coordination of supporting functions e.g. logistics
• Planning of equipment integration and commissioning
• Chair and Lead Design Reviews
• Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
• Report the progress of the project at regular intervals to the PEB and the Board
• Act as a champion for best practice and regulatory compliance (cross-company). Embody this within GAD engineering processes, in collaboration with other senior technical staff
• Proactive collaboration with other business functions, including EHS, manufacturing, and quality
• Collaborate with external suppliers and project partners
• Formal document approvals
• Mentor and develop the engineering team
• Lead technical risk management

• Leadership of teams to deliver complex Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical engineering in the scope of Workloads & Projects
• Computer aided design
• Knowledge of relevant standards and legislation
• Communication, delegation and teamwork
• Data analysis, interpretation and reporting
• Technical background within Design, Analysis, and Calculations for sign-offs
• Industries: Oil & Gas – Energy – Nuclear – Aero Space – Automotive
• INVENTOR – ADVANCED, AUTODESK VAULT, CFD/FEA ADVANCED
• 20+ years for Technical Lead
• Analytical thinking, Mechanical design , Team Leadership, Pragmatic and able to make decisions based on business priorities
• Educaction – HNC / HND / BSc / MSc / PHD / Chartered Engineer
